greenspun.com : LUSENET : MATH : One Thread

Well, folks, Kathleen "I'm Nailed Right In!" Lippincott turns 17. That's some crazy shite, y'all.

I'll be in and out today - I have a meeting in about two hours, but it's at the Capitol, so I have to get down there like an hour ahead since it's such a crap-ass place to park.

Who's here?!

It's INRI's b-day? Excellent.

By an odd coincidence, it is also Mrs. Kathleen Outlaw's (Grandmutha) birthday. She turns 70. I always remember her b-day, because it is the First Day of Spring.

Ok, Mike's off... T's gone... where is ever-body? Napoleon brought in donuts this morning and I'm on a sugar high! I need MATH!

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

AB? Where you at? The Stoli clouded my memory and I cannot recall that site you showed me where you can see who an IP address is...

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

Does Slobberbone just have the one disc?

I found lots of Billy Joe Shaver.

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

H! They have two dics - one of them is hard to get.

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

I just want the dahawag song, mostly. So I can have repeated images of almost dying in front of them.

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

The dahawag is my fave, but only barely ahead of "Lumberlung." I don't know why, but I lo...mmm that song so much. Not as much as I love Alabama Ass Whuppin' by the Drive-by Truckers, though.

We were supposed to go to a record store but we didn't. Oh well. I think Brad took 27 pictures of Sarah Harmer.

One of the girls who went down there quit yesterday.

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

One of the girls that went to sxsw? Did she quit because she looooooved Austin so much that she just had to move there and live among the hippies? Because I'm thinking about it.

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

You know you can order Slobberbone from a few places on the web. You might be able to find that first disc - but Gimme Back My Dog is on the second.

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

I think she was gonna quit anyway, and that trip was just a last hoorah type thing.

Al - you and me both. If Lucinda can make it playing on 24th and Guadalupe, so can I. Of course, I should probably learn to play guitar first.

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

Oh, they're playing in Chicago on April 6th. Oh, and in Dallas every other weekend of course.

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

Who, the Bone? Yeah, they play in Dallas a lot. Wouldn't mind seeing them in Chicago, though...

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

So, let's go! I can fly from here for under $100. Southwest loves the Columbus-Chicago route.

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

Yeah, yeah... I'll need a sugardaddy for that one, though.

Sorry I was oot for a sec, my computer like, blew a gasket and I had to reboot three times.

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

You know... why did I ever think I could do a long-distance relationship and be ok with it? I mean, frankly, it irritates the shit out of me.

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

The next time I see the MOC? April 13. Sucks. And he's FOUR hours away. I mean, what is the deal? Blah blah blah mastersdegree cakes.

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

sugardaddy schmugardaddy.

what's up? what happened?

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

oh baby, I'm sorry. That does suck. Is it possible for you to drive down there for just like, one night, or anything?

When does he graduate?

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

Well, you know how I hate to chase, and I hate to feel needy, and I hate to ask for more of his time, and I hate everything, and I hate your daddy, and all of that - so when he tells me we can't get together until April 13 (and he has comps coming up - so he definitely has a very legit reason) I cannot get mad.

I mean I WILL NOT whine or complain or say ANYTHING other than a cheery "~OK!~" but then, in private, I have to kick something. Because, I'm definitely not mad at Chris - I guess I'm just frustrated. I need to just take my own advice and live my life, don't I? And when the dust settles, and he decides on his future, I'll have to see if it coincides with what I want for mine.

Life is HARD!

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

You're totally right.

But can I just say that speaking up about what you need is not being needy. And maybe he needs a little more spontenaity in his ocd life.

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

I know. Crazy MOC. You'd never know it by looking at him, but the military comes to the surface every once in a while.

I know, you're right. I really have been trying to balance the stoicism with expressing my needs. It ain't easy.

Going to lunch now - will return asap.

Rove!

I think I might actually try to go see the Bone, but that's stupid. Right? I could see one of my college roommates. Haven't seen her in like 3 years. And it's only a 5 hr drive. Cause I'd need a car and I'm not that jet-setting that I'd fly somewhere I could also drive.

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

Bridget? Is she still with that older guy?

GOOD LORD, I'm hungry. I've been in meetings and driving around town since 10:30 this morning. Plus, it is cold and windy as all get out. Windy-ramma.

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

Allison, can he not go to Dallas until April 13, or can you not see him, period, until April 13?

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

Nope, they broke up. Finally! Which is why she's back in Chicago.

And Al - the Gourd is playing two nights earlier. Mayn.

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

Allison. Get yourself to Gretagaines.com and check out her gallery. The first photo. Love her. But there are shots of her with Lucinda and Willie.

(Lucinda looks hotter onstage and in her awesome pants, but you know, whatever.)

My mom just called me because she needed to "recognize to someone" that 36 years ago today she married my dad. But she's not sad about it. She just likes to make me cry at WORK.

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

Of course she's not sad - she has you and Guy!

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

I return!

Give me a moment to prepare myself before I look at GretaGaines.com.

Napoleon is on his phone, talking very loudly. Haaaaaaaaaate. He is such a secretive little weasel.

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

Ok... damn. I had to make that picture of her on the payphone my desktop wallpaper. Replacing the picture of Chicken Lippincott that had been there for so very long. That's saying a lot.

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

Well, only someone like Greta could replace someone like Chicken L.

She has so many great hats!

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

It's a cool site. She's all this champion snowboarder and stuff? That's clazy.

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

I'm back. Ugh. Had to deal with the bank. My deposit on Friday didn't post. I asked them why. They said that the deposits from Friday afternoon didn't get picked up. I was all, "You're telling me that my deposit sat outside the bank ALL WEEKEND until someone noticed that the courier didn't pick them up??" Whatevuh.

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

Good Lord. Thank goodness you didn't write some big ass check over the weekend.

Where in the world is AB Chao? Or, as she came to be known last night, The A to the B to the C.

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

Except for the student loan and the car insurance. La la la. It's all good, though. I'm calm, and my bank account is in the black.

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

Unlike mine, which is always hurtling towards the red.

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

I have no idea how I managed to stay outta my overdraft after spain and Austin. But I did. Somehow. Of course, my car insurance goes through tomorrow, and that'll take care of that, but whatever.

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

Oh, it's in the black only because of my overdraft protection that pulls form my Visa. I had paid down so much of it, and now it's up again. Dammit.

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

People, I am jonesing for Sephora and Lush. Stop me before I spend again.

Also, more than ever lately, I have been breaking my brand loyalty to Crabtree & Evelyn, which I said I would never do, claiming I would be buried surrounded by my Swiss Skin Care... I feel like a cheater.

Oh my god, y'all:

"Sir Phoenix has made his journey to Rainbow Bridge. He will be missed more than words can express. Phoe-Phoe, wherever you are right now please know that your humans love you so much. Tell Kassandra we love her."

Maybe I missed this when we were in Spain, but y'all. I shouldn't be giggling, but I am.

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

oh RIP Duxus man. RIP.

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

WHEN did she post THAT? Oh....... the Rainbow Bridge....... I can't take it.

RIP, Sir Phoenix. Who will drive your Duxus now?

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

I, um, went to the Jazzy Ferrets page to see if she'd updated that.

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

What she doesn't know is that Sir Phoenix is in HELL! Because he's a rat, see.

-- Anonymous, March 20, 2001

Right. But at least he's with Kassandra.

~Would you know my name if I saw you in rat hell?~
