Intertoto Cp

We've applied to be entered in the Intertoto Cup!

If we finish high enough, which must be higher than ninth apparently, we have the chance of being entered in the competition.

The competition may start as early as July 15. So after a season when we have been moaning about injuries the players will get no pre-season training.

What a nightmare. All well if we get into Europe but it's going to have some real downsides. The teams from the Premiership who competed in the Cup have never really done well in the Premiership in the same season.

That might be because only shite teams have to enter it :-)

Christ I bet the FA phoned us in those circumstances then!

Hello is that Bobby Robson? Your team has been rated as shite so would you like to apply for a place in the Intertoto cup?

More money for the board from the punters

I can't see what the problem is. Pre season friendly's start in mid July so why not make them a bit more competative. I reckon there the reason the players don't like the idea, is because they'll be playing teams in the likes of Estonia and poland, rather than having a nice holiday in Japan.

I suppose the thinking is that there is far more chance of picking up injuries and players getting tired in these more competitive games.

We had a good enough start to last season so that's not an issue. We will have to use every aspect of our squad if we're going to have any success in the league.

Simply the latest dumb decision to virtually complete the full set!

After sitting for months inviting rigor-mortis into their fat arses, stupified with inactivity while watching a heaven-sent opportunity to qualify for the UEFA Cup go sliding down the netty bowl like a putrified jobby, these idiots belatedly seem to have sprung back to life, and having at long last realised the immense financial impact of their ineptitude, have now decided to consign next season to the sewage pond before we have even completed the present disaster epic.

Having spewed that particular pile of venom, if entry into the Inter-Bozo Cup really requires a top 9 PL placing, then there's nothing at all to get worried about. Tossers!

Do I detect a hint of disapproval there Clarky?

The Mackems haven't entered the InterTwoBob because of the effect it has on pre-season preparations.

Couple that with the news that they are actually reducing season ticket prices this year isn't it funny that they release all this positive spin after Halls' comments and our application for the InterTwBob?
