I am in a position of a leader in my career. My staff have worked under me for a few years. My style of leadership seems too put me beside, or on the same level, as my staff. We have, in a way, become a bit close. I feel as if I have lost respect as a leader. I wish to change my style, to gain respect, and to be more prepared for my next promotion. This promotion will put me in a position leading the same group with more responsibility, and a greater need for results, and production. "Any Ideas" Signed,,,,,, Shipmate

Evaluate what makes you think that you have lost respect from the team and improve on those areas. Do not think too much about promotion, but think of how you and your team can "promote" and take the company to the next level. Plan and come up with ideas as to how you and your team will be able to contribute in you and your team's future responsibilites, and how it will show the results and improve the overall productivity. Ask your team to come out with individual ideas and bring your own ideas and do a brainstorming to finalize the plan. The rest should fall in place.
