If you were a man (or are) and got a woman pregnant, and didn't love her, would you marry her because you feel it's the moral thing to do?...I myself find it wrong to marry without being in love...children need parents but that can be worked out without being in a loveless marriage...What do you think?

No I wouldn't get married. I would support and nurture the child if that was ok with the woman but I wouldn't get married. I would even take the parenting role if the mother didn't want the job. Being married is tough enough when you are in love. Being in lust is a stupid reason for marriage. Of course having unprotected sex is stupid too. James

What James said, except that I'm a woman, so I'd have the added option of, to put it politely, termination or adoption. Marriage, even when you're in love, committed, financially secure etc, is tough. Add a child(ren) into the mix and it becomes tougher.

Marriage is for many reasons other than simply to raise a child. So, I would support the woman and even seek out an active parenting role in the child's life, but unless we're in love and both want to marry each other, for each other, there's no reason to get married.

Married without love? Married because you're pregnant/got someone pregnant? Lemme introduce you to all my relatives, y'all.

I haven't seen it work out all that well... although I've seen one example of SPECTACULAR parenting, in which my cousin and her ex work so carefully together to raise their son, even though they aren't romantically involved. They genuinely care about each other as friends and as the mother/father of their child, and that comes first.

It's a refreshing change from, say, my other hundred cousins (yes, THOSE cousins!)....
