Enough is Enough you got that right!

Ah prono online? Save the Children? This Bruce Watson president of these whiners is also a member of the Council for National Policy, I am shocked! talk about offensive.

Gee can ANYONE throw together a simple PC for these wackos? Have maybe 200 SET web addresses this puter could only access? Allow SIMPLE email to and from parentally authorized contacts? Include all sorts of neat games and software to keep the kids busy? make it virtually crash-proof?

Hell splice together a P2P network for all these kids, a closed-loop?

Oh no we must LEGISLATE MORALITY!!! And hell who isn't against kiddie porn anyhow? It exists, deal with it as an American. Build alternatives-gates-locks. Be an active role-model.

Ya it is terrible that internet, grow up.

Kiddie porn on the Net, NEWSWEEK

Personally, I found it interesting to look through the "temporary internet files" each day and see where my kids had gone. Secretly [of course], I was relieved to find my son checking out some "girly" sites several years back. It seemed like he'd never develop an interest in girls, and some in junior high thought he was gay. Of course as a parent, I brought my findings to his attention. He took the Bart Simpson defense: "*I* didn't do it." I said, "Look me in the eye, son, and tell me who if not you, living with one woman and two girls, would be interested in viewing women in lingerie?" He still refused to confess.

In lieu of bamboo shoots under his fingernails, I set up some moderate security on my browser. AFAIK, *I* was the only one ever caught by it.

Jeeze Anita, the poor kid was looking at nekkid wimmin, as all healthy red-blooded boys should do. Give the kid a break!

Unk:

The poor kid never even found the naked ones [although I'm sure he has since.] His oldest sister did a "ho-hum", while the sister closest to his age said, "My brother is a pervert?" THAT was funny. I said, "No. He's just curious."

At the time, I.E. had the options of establishing security at various levels. Since I haven't been caught since installing I.E. 5.whatever, I have to assume that I washed out the security. The security option I set at the time excluded only the hard-core stuff, both in the sex and violence areas.

At first, when *I* got caught by my own net, I just back-clicked, thinking that *I* wouldn't want to visit a site that my own security had prevented. A few times, however, I entered the password and checked. The filter excluded even innocuous references to sexual acts or acts of violence. I had to read the articles four or five times to even "catch" why they had been filtered.

Trust me...I was never concerned about my son visiting the sites he did. What concerned me was that he'd lie to me about it. He must have been VERY embarrassed to do that. I'll ask him about it. I'm sure that now, years past the incident in question, he'll tell me what he was thinking.
