Michael, I dont know if you will ever read this, but its worth a shot. since i could walk i was dancing to your music w/ my dad. when i became a gymnast, every school or girlscout performance i did was to "beat it". When i recently was in hospital, I switched on the t.v and there you were, Michael I can totally acknowledge the grief and harm, you have suffered throughout your so called memorable years. Let me start by saying that I am not much of a music fan. I am a general surgeon practicing in Texas. I graduated from Harvard medical school with honors and trained at The Cornell Medical Center in New York City. I am married to a trauma surgeon and have three beautiful boys; they are Alex 6, Patrick 3, and connor 5months. I guess I have what one calls the traditional american family although in my opinion, not quite, because I am a hard working wife with a nanny who helps me raise my children. Michael, I saw your documentary and am appalled at the public reaction. We pride ourselves to be a free nation who tolerate differences yet we are quick to morally judge those who don't uphold our set stadards of behavior. I was truly touched by your life. You are a priveleged individual reaching heights not imaginable to ordinary folks yet I would not want to wear your skin because with this success comes a horrible price. You surround yourself with competent people but who can you trust? I deal with this everyday but obviously on a much smaller scale. My point is that,just because you don't raise your children the way middle america would wish you would raise your children, or treat other people's children forthat matter, doesn't mean its wrong! In fact, I commend you for the courage to speak up and defend your beliefs. Your children and those in need are lucky to have someone like you to shine a light in this horrific world. By the way, If I were in your situation, I would also hide the identity of my children for fear that they may be kidnapped for a ransom.
