Speedlite and Elan II in macro

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon EOS FAQ forum : One Thread

Hallo, i need help. I have an Elan II (eos 50) and a 380EX. My interest is macro. I have this problem: Then i use the 380EX flash over the body if i shoot with RR 1:1 the lens is very close to the subjet and the lightis not good. I know i can purchease un off-shoe cord, but the question is what about the flah of the camera ? It has an ng of 11 that seem to be useful for macroshoot, and moreover it is closer to the subject. Has someone experience and can help me? Sorry for my english. I can't find an aswer at this problem in the faq, but if it exists tell me where i can find . Massimo

You should get good results with the 380EX and the "Canon Off Camera Shoe Cord 2". The flash can then be placed as close to the subject as you want, and without shading from the lens.
