When my parents got married they bought the home. It was a version of a cape cod with out the dormers. Growing up you would often see walking shadows passing from room to room. As children seeing these shadows and growing up with them we were not very frightened.

It got to the point where none of us thought much of it. However I do find it funny that after a friend would sleep over once they never wanted to do it again...I could never understand why. Z

I had always seen "misty people" since I can remember, never knew others didn't see them, too.

Funny about your description of "misty people". I have known that all my life. May I tell you my two favorite stories?

My Dad passed on very suddenly in 1976. Dad & I were great "chums". One of our favorite games was "hide the wig head". We would put this silly wig head in stupid places where the other would be sure to find it. The game continued after my father's passing at least on his part. About three days after his funeral, I came home from work thoroughly beat and decided to take a nap. After going in my room and laying on the bed, I heard voices in the kitchen and got up. There sat up Dad and a strange man. I said to my Dad, "What are you doing here, you are dead!" ( subtle) He said, "Well Punk, I am not used to it yet so I thought that I would come back for a bit. Now you go back to your room and go to sleep!" I can remember going back to my room laying down and then waking up. Was I dreaming? Did the story really happen or did I dream it. Something almost as unique happened after my Mom's passing but that is for another time. My uncle told me not to be frightened of this "gift" because it runs in the family. What do you think?

Wow!!!! I know exactly what happened with you and your dad, if I may speak freely. When our loved ones pass over, it depends on their "belief" system what they first experience. the Strange man at the table with your dad was his "spirit "helper" or guardian, if you will, with the "strangers help, your dad wouldn't have been able to lower his vibration to appear to you in your dreamstate.....yes, you may think it was a dream, but in reality you upped your vibration with loving your father and he was shone how to lower his vibratory rate long enough for you to "see" him, say a few words, then he told you to go back to bed,,,,the reason is he couldn't lower vibrate for a long time like that. Following me?

And he would have disappeared into "air" and didn't want you to "see" that...... Hope I haven't offended you with this info!!!! if you think back on the "dream...it "felt" real, huh!!!!!!

Cinderella1 Registered User posts: 2 (12/18/00 11:50:07 pm) Reply | Edit | Del Re: My own ghost story -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Saro, I have always "believed" in my heart of hearts that it was not a dream. I "know" it happened. My Mother passed away in 1996. On Christmas Day, I was in the living room when bells began to ring all over the house. The only problem was I don't have any bells. LOL! I strongly believe that it was my Mother wishing me a Merry Christmas. I could go on with these forever because so much has happened in my life. I do feel comfortable repeating them here.

and I do believe it was your mom on Christmas day!!!!! you are very blessed to be open enough that the viel thins enough at times for you to "connect".

Please know this is common, but alot of belief systems says it has to be evil.....I beg to differ!!!!

Love is never evil. BTW, I have had this "gift" all my life. I will not bore you with all my stories. I also have been frightened several times when I have not recognised the giver.

We had a couple people mention seeing a child come out of the living room closet and walk across the room and thru a wall. Where they disappear used to be the hall entrance, but I moved it during remodeling. I have never seen this happen, but I do bnelieve the people who saw it. they were at different times and each was alone when it happened. None ofthem knew ofthe others seeing the spectacle until after they told me. I did not identify any of them to each other and I have no idea who the child is.

There were two families who lived here prior to us buying the house. The first family had two girls. The guy next door said he remembers them sitting out back tanning, so they were not too young, I guess. The second family did have some small kids, but I don't know how many. There was a divorce in that family and as a result they sold the house, and that was when we moved in.

Perhaps this child's spirit finds comfort in the loving atmosphere in your home.

I have also been told that sometimes you need to help the spirit pass on. This can be completed in a number of ways. Holy Water/ Holy Oil worked well for me. At first, I had difficulty in the thought of sending the spirit on but then some very negative things began happening in the house. I had no trouble after that! I have been told that those of us on this level of existence are not supposed to "live" with spirits. Ultimately, there will be problems. Saro, a reply to this would be appreciated because I am definitely out of my league on this one. My source for this information was a Roman Catholic nun so it was easy for me to obtain the Holy Oil. I have often wondered how my Mother is able to come back on Christmas Day with the bells since Holy Oil was used in the house in 1990.Does Holy Oil wear off or does my Mother have approval from God to do this? It did happen last year but the Christmas of 1997&1998 it did not happen. Don't know why? Will let you know about Christmas 2000.

But here is my understanding .....we live in the body here on earth and we vibrate at a lower level than the next level up, which is know as the first astral level.

I do believe that once we pass on, we do not float around on a cloud in heavenly bliss, but continue to work on our spiritual growth, opting to come to earth is a way to "learn" much more quickly.

I'm not much for "using" things like the holy oil, I go directly to Christ if I have a "negative' ENTITY around. There's no way any of us can fight or control an evil spirit....only the Lord has the power for that or He gives that power to one of His Angels, St. Micheal is the One that comes to mind to do battle against the Dark forces.

this is a very brief post, as I do have to run, but I this is only the way I have come to believe. I am still in the human body, I have not passed to theother side, I can only tell you what my experiences have shaped my beliefs.

I personally think your mom was present to "peek" in on you every year, but you may have been concentrating so hard to be aware of it, that you missed it completely.

If you want more in way of explanations, I will check this when I get back.

Merry Christmas!

What you say about spirits 'passing through and deciding to stay' was at first rather scary! LOL Then, after thinking about it, it started to make sense.

If spirits can be 'anchored' by a house/event/person to a specific location, then it stands to reason that a spirit could also be wandering and visiting various places.

It has been some time, a couple years I guess, since anyone has mentioned seeing anything, so I will assume that whatever/whoever it was has moved on. Or perhaps we have become too insensitive to notice.

I beleive that there are many abilites of our minds that we have not tapped into, or have lost over the years. Perhaps in time we may learn some of these and be able to more fully understand the things around us.

Happy Holidays to all, and may we all be safe as we explore our futures.
