Why and for who did poe write anabel lee? Who was she to him?

I'm not quite sure about this but I think he wrote it for his wife Virginia -who was also his cousin- when she died. He was so distressed...

Yes, it was his 13 year old cousin Virginia Eliza Clemm who he wrote it for. I just had to do a project on it. She had tuberculosis, teh same disease his (biological) mom Mrs. Poe died of when he was 2. He was really upset, because he loved her so much. \The Annabel Lee theory that has to do with his childhood sweetheart Sarah Elmira Royster, is because she used to call herself Annabel Lee. But it was really about Virginia.
