Human Cannonball : LUSENET : Junkyard Wars : One Thread

How about the teams build a contraption that launches a human (team member)into a body of water or net and measure how far the person travels before landing. that would be sweet!

That is the best idea I've seen yet!

I agree. This one should definitely be on the show!!!!

A fellow here in Texas has built a trebuchet that was used for throwing him and his friends into the San Marcos river, total distance, as I recall, was about 60 feet. The treb finally failed after an afternoon of hurling folks into the river. So, this can be done without serious injury to the parties involved. Having already built a couple of trebs, this would be a really cool challenge. If I can find the URL for the treb this fellow built, I'll post it...ken

And, here is the URL; It seems that Ron, who did the human hurling treb, helped to build the treb that out hurled the Rusty Fellows pumkin chunker. Go to the site and check it out...ken

It's the "Dangerous Sports Club" site. Ron's home site is and has pics and description of his people slinger as well as the JYW machines.

Rushing to build a machine from scrap... to launch some poor fool the farthest... sounds a bit risky in my book.
