Fire Fighting Hydro pumps

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Junkyard Wars : One Thread

Hi my name is Drake and I am 7 years old. Your show is lots of fun to watch. I love reading and learning about fire trucks, and would like to see the warriors make one. My mom says that would be kinda hard so we looked in a book and saw some old fashioned ones that pumped water through a hose. The firmen filled it up with buckets of water and then pumped it by hand to get the water to shoot through the hose to put out the fire. I think it would be really neat to see the warriors build it.

Thank you, Drake Haldman (submitted with help from Mommy: Guinevere)

Oh Gee, I just couldn't resist responding to this one, being an aspiring firefighter myself...
one thing that has already been done is an episode featuring "fireboats" hopefully the episode will re-air as TLC continues to show re-runs from the previous seasons. If Im not mistaken (and I'm sure someone will correct me if I am) it was from the second season of the European side (called Scrapheap challenge) It featured my favorite team the N.E.R.D.S. if you follow the links on the junkyard wars page that lead to the UK version calles Scrapheap Challenge, you should be able to find all kinds of cool stuff relating to that challenge.

if you have trouble finding the link, try this one.

good luck!

yep they built fire boats but you missed Drake's point of moving the water with hand driven pumps, the ones they used on the boats were engine drivin.
