Hypothetical...

Ronaldo comes to sjp, do you want him?

avoiding the inevitable injury jibes, what implications would this have for the club?

Realistically, Ronaldo isn't coming here except on a short-term loan period. We're supposed to be building a competitive squad - although I'm beginning to wonder - so where does a loan player fit in that scenario? Frankly, it doesn't. Would manure or Arsenal take loan players on board in this scenario? Of course not.

If he was coming here now for the rest of the season, say to help us try to qualify for the UEFA Cup, and cover for the basence of AS & YKD, I'd say yes, definitely.

If we were considering bringing him in at the beginning of the season for 1-3 months, I'd conclude we'd already written off yet another season, and that would seriously annoy me.

Now if he was coming here permanently.....no, stop dreaming.

I've seen better knees on chickens. + we already have Shearer.

Unless we can work out a pay-per-minute arrangement. Even I can afford him at that rate.

I can't believe everyone's response to the possibility of this happening. Why not take him on loan?

Carl Cort's obviously a crock, Shearer's long gone and wat else do we have Cordone, Gallacher, Ameobi.

Come on, we've hardly got the best striker in the land, the most expensive probably!

What harm will Ronaldo do coming in on load - we'll get publicity, good and bad. Christ, I know who I'd rather have on loan out of Ronaldo and Cordone

If he came and got himself fully fit and scored a couple of goals that would be the last we would see of him. Inter wuld recall him so fast they'd pay for a police escort to the airport.

Don't see any other reason than publicity, where there is an advantage. I've said before, why on earth would any player with half a brain come to our club to get fit.

We'd see he was walking then put him straight into the first team. How can the publicity from finally finishing off Ronaldo be any good?

so Ronaldo scoring a couple of goals is a bad thing?

How many has Cordone, Cort and Gallacher scored since they've been been here? That's 3 strikers who have been here for at least this season and have scored around 4 or 5 goals in total. Deadly or what.

Anyway, it's pointless talking about this as Ronaldo is obviously not going to come

hi TJ, you doing alright?

...if we al say he's not going to come here enough...he probably will.

but when i was a kid i always played that game but i never got a bmx :-(

It would just be a huge publicity stunt if he did join, with a 50/50 chance of it blowing up in our face. Imagine if he broke down ala Van Nistleroy - not the best of PR but if he came and conquered well we'd finally be on the front page for the right reasons.

doing fine thanks swifty - had some work commitments over the past couple of years so I've mainly had to be one of the many lurkers here!

His injury record and the Toon's sound like a marriage made in heaven... actually, would we be able to insure him?
