Newcastle's St James' Park will host England's World Cup qualifying game against Albania on 5 September. The FA confirmed the venue at a news conference at St James' Park on Monday.

I really hope this game is a big success. I've felt very alienated from England in recent years - I'm sure I'll start supporting them more enthusiastically if they get out of London a lot more.

You know, it occurs to me that the FA could save themselves an absolute fortune if they pay off the mortgage on SJP and use the place as the national stadium. There'd be enough money left over to have Leazes terrace moved elsewhere and get the place finished off properly. And wouldn't it be magic to see a semi final between Arse & Spurs there with the cockneys moaning about all the travel.

Aaaah - if I'm ever the absolute dictator of this country there'll be one or two changes made ....
