In America, Jewish holidays like Purim, are barely even noticed by secular society and many jews don't even celebrate them. Little kids get dressed up and some grown ups do but it is hardly observed (schools don't get let out). How is it celebrated in Israel? Is it a big deal regardless if you belong to a synagogue or not? Are schools let out on this or other holidays?
