The video is recorded in avi format and with a huge file size. Morever FULL SCREEN video is not recorded. Could anyone suggest : 1. How to record full screen video with high resolution 2. Do I need to change my video capture device 3. How do i transform the recordings to VCD

You might want to look back on the hauppauge website - they have a download for and MPEG-1 encoder software. That sorts your file space problem! However, you do need to convert your existing AVI's to MPEG's.

Unfortunately, your WinTV card may only be able to capture max 352x288 resolution at 25f/ps. However, this is part of the VideoCD standard ("white book standard") and is about the best you will get anyway.

I have an old WinTV 848/9 card (still chugging along!). It appears to be OK, so I purchased "CINAX WinVCR" to capture video from my Sony HandyCam to MPEG-1. WinVCR cst about $40 online at www.winvcr.com) This also allows capture to VideoCD formats (VC1 and VCD2). From what I have learnt, VCD2 is better. Anyway I have burned my 70minute clip onto CD using CEQuadrat WinOnCD and a Sony CRX140E only to find that it didn't play on my mates DVD player ( I haven't got DVD yet - thinking of the future).

So up to that point I am stuck. Although it may have something to do with "20 Zero bytes - but that could be another story!!

Came across your plea for help whilst looking for a solution. Hope it provide's some help for you and that I haven't been teaching you to suck eggs!

Good luck
