I now realize the mistakes I made with this shot. Too low of camera angle springs to mind!!!!! TLR's don't come with instruction books, you know.....

hehe Colin.. yes! good post because you learnt something! now apply that knowledge and go take some more pics and post them! Keep an eye on those backgrounds too! In this one a little more tree behind her out to the left might have been preferable as currently it hugs her hair a bit close IMO

Reminds me of Mona Lisa's hands! The portrait is not bad, but the background needs to be less prominent and more blurry probably. But the most important thing besides her face and smile, is her hands and how she is sort of "tugging" on a finger. Little things like that really help to portray personality and give the photograph lift.
