I recently purchased a VCD containing music videos. When I put it in my CD Rom drive, there's no auto play. When I explore my D: drive, there are seven folders. Cdda, Cdi, Ext, Karaoke, Mpegav, Segment, and Vcd. Inside the Cdda, Karaoke, and Segment folders there is nothing. Inside the others are various .vcd, .dyv, .c8, and .dat files. I don't know what is the problem. I would like help fast, though. Thank you.

you still can open it with windows media player or others player because vcd contains .dat, when you browse the file put *.* all files find for .dat file and play it, good luck

If your Cd-rom can read the VCD. You should be able to play the video in Media Player. You can find the media player in C: / go to the windows file & open the windows file / look in the M section for Mplayer. "Click it"

Now upper left in file "open" look in the Cd-rom drive what ever the letter is. Look in the Mpegav file click that. You should see Avseq01 OR Music01 this is the movie stream. However some CD-roms don't always read some VCD disc :(

There is also a better way. Go get Sthsvcd software (free for download), install on your PC. It will aumatically plays VCD, SVCD, XVCD from CD-ROM right after inserting. Browsing the .DAT file in MPEGAV folder then open with Windows Media Player also work (for VCD only. SVCD and XVCD won't work).
