What is the meaning(interpretation)of the poem by Poe "The Lake"???

He is comparing himself to the lake. lonely, secluded, depressed. initially the poem is about suicide.

How? I thought it was just about a lonely lake that he liked and that if you made an eden out of it that you would die obssesed with it or something like that.
