will the vivitar 19-35/3.5-4.5 fit on my canon A-1? do you get canon FD 20-35mm lenses?

If you get the FD mount version it will mount to your camera.

I did indeed get a 20-35 f3.5L. Considering the design time of 1983- 4 it is an absolute brilliant lens and I tend to use it more often than primes in that range. You will find it tends to be expensive, on the order of US$500 and up.

There is an older version, the 24-35 f3.5L that may be available for less.
