Cable Release for the M6

Do they make a cable release specifically for the M6? Can I just use any brand; and which brand works well? Also; what length should I get?

thanks,

Michael

You can use any brand, just be carefull about "over pushing" it, lest you damage the internal workings of the release mechanism. The M6 does not need much throw on its cable release, and I regularly use a Nikon cable release that has a very long throw -- I just use it carefully, and don't push too hard. The real danger is that the M's are so quiet, you sometimes don't hear the shutter trip, so you keep pushing harder on the release!

One of my cables (unfortunately I don't know what brand) has an adjustable throw so you don't have to worry when using it with an M camera. The plunger only has to come out a short way on the M cameras. I bought it from B&H, so if you ask for a cable that is adjustable, someone there should know which one.

i have been thinking of cutting a cable release as i can't find one with an adjustable throw - andrew how long is your adjustable set to throw?
