Ronnie reporting that Colchester want to bring Lx2 back on loan for the rest of the season. Good/bad idea?

Methinks it was 2.25mil down the drain.

I agree man.The lads more heedless than dave mccreery!

One of the tabloids told it like it was LL's idea, not Colchester's. The lad's obviously delighted with his new role. Dunno if it says this in the Ronnie, but in this morning's paper he said he never wanted to leave CU, but NUFC were too big to turn down. IIRC, he started on the bench at CU most of the time anyway...

Didn't see that, at least not in the online version. He was bought for his potential, I think, not to be able to challenge Shearer and Cort immediately. What it's starting to look like is that while he's undoubtedly got the tricky skills, he doesn't appear to have the ability to really apply himself to learning teamwork and how to do the basics. As though he maybe believes just having the natural skills is enough.

I feel desperately sorry for this kid. He has looked totally unprepared as a PL player, and even in the Reserve game the other night he looked a lost soul.

He was bought as one for the future, was thrown in at the deep-end into a situation he looked entirely unprepared for. It looks as though his confidence has been hammered, and now we hear he is suggesting a loan back to his previous Club.

How this situation is handled is to me a real test of the present management team's ability.

I remember one of Mr. Robson's comments when we bought LuaLua was that he wasn't going to be rushed into the first team. I don't think he really has been. Has he actually started a game?

I believe he has start one or two games Sounder.

Mick Wadsworth commenting on Luax2's possible loan back to Colchester in the Journal this morning, said he wouldn't be going because he on a development programme at SJP with a view to him making a major impact next season.
Good so far. However, he then went to say that "anyone who watches the Reserves will know how good he is looking!" Well actually Mick..........!

Doh! So what's this program? Show up when told, collect a paycheck, play some reserves matches? Is there further training and development going on that people don't know about? Am I the only one starting to get worried every time MW makes assurances about a player's talent and development?

Lua Lua was actually in the crowd at Colchester's match against Port Vale on Wednesday. He obviously still has some affinity for the club. Having said that, Colchester's performance on the night must have made him realise that a move back there would be hugely detrimental to his career!
