If the club try to re-negotiate his contract with a pay cut relative to his international appearances then I can see Solano wanting to move.

Suits me as long as Dyer stays and gets the right wing slot. Gavilan as back up will get the progression he would wish.

.com are reporting he didn't play for Peru against Honduras. Guess why.

?por quai?

Guess - it ain't difficult and doesn't take any imagination.

MW isn't there to scout players. He's really there as YBR's heavy(so to speak) to make sure Nobby doesn't....em....do anything silly. Like play.

He denies any knowledge of lead pipes. Well, that's what a Miss T. Harding says anyway.

The Journal today reckoned there were a number of Italian and Spanish Clubs watching the Solano situation with a view to moving for him in the close season. It seems certain that unless we satisfy his contractual ambitions he will be off - and I'm absolutely sure that agreeing to take a salary reduction every time he plays for Peru is exactly the kind of incentive to stay that he's looking for.

Enjoy his last few appearances at SJP over the next couple of months.

I think you're right, Clarky. His own comments didn't sound very promising. He said he couldn't say anything for sure until June and that he'd like to stay...if he's offered an aggreeable contract.

Yes, I have doubts about Nobby's long-term future at NUFC. But if he wants to continue playing for Peru, can we afford the luxury? I know you're not convinced about Diego, Clarky (me neither on what I've seen) but if LKD went wide (as per DeB's comments) Diego could backfill and gain experience. Unless of course he's off inthe near future.........

Since the rumours about the dodgy passports starting cropping up, Nobby hasn't been half the player he can be, and if he isn't going to recover from it with a passport on his mind, then maybe we should just get the most we can for him.

Dyer could easily cover for him on the right, in fact that is where I see Dyer's ideal position. Gavilan as back up seems sensible enough, remember Nobby himself wasn't exactly outstanding when Dalglish first signed him.

Solano is probably our most creative player along with Dyer, and I'd be disappointed to see him leave, but all too often him and Dyer try to play the same role at the same time, which is good for nothing at all.

If Dyer can maintain the same form on the right wing, he could nail down an England place for the next 5-8 years.

Teamtalk are reporting that Nobs is set to snub interest from Italian giants Parma to sign a new 3 year Contract with the Toon that would see him earning £25,000 a week.
They believe it could be announced later this week.

It's about bloody time we had some good news.

Bagain at 25k per week.

I mean i pay £400 per year so 60 lots of me pay his weekly salary, 52 lots of us pay his annual take, so only 3000 of us are paying for someone who can occasionally centre and can NEVER tackle, bargain. Hope we can find another 10 like him.

Oh I have a had a one G&T, one bottle of Chardonnay, and a large single malt. Luckily hasn't clouded my judgement at all.
