greenspun.com : LUSENET : MATH : One Thread

Hey, peeps. Y'all MATH + 1 - T - H = not the same. I wonder how our senioritas are doing?

It's one in the mo'nin' and I just entered the karaoke contest. Prepare to vote.

Oh, I'm dying. Allison, you kicked serious ass, and Omar's is the funniest thing I've ever heard.

It's like quality v. laughability again. But you know I'm still voting for you, baby.

I miss T and H too! I know they could find an internet cafe somewhere over there and check in with their sad little MATHletes.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Mayn... I'm afraid to listen to mine. I just got in my car, dialed the number, called, did it and hung up. You have the option to listen and erase, but I knew I would do it a hundred times so, I just sent it.

Does it actually sound ok, because I don't think I can listen. I hate the sound of my voice on tape.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

It sounds more than okay, don't worry. Listen to it!

Did you hear Ike Turner's? Hee.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

I'm going to go listen to his now. I'm sure it's hilarious. Did you read Omar today? www.terriblyhappy.com

Funniest thing ever.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

God DAMN that's funny. I might have to vote for him. SHIT. You know he's gonna kick my ass! Mayn. Lord, I am laughing so hard.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

He is not! But it is the funniest thing ever. As is his entry. Mayn.

Guess what? Anna the Golden Retriever is coming Tuesday! I'm so happy happy! Now we need a new name. What was it you suggested? Y'all have to help me name her, because Vince and Mad Madeleine like stupid names.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Oh, I am a champ at naming d-o-double-gs.

I suggested Louise, but you didn't go for it. I have many more.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Ok, she's a golden... which means she's a blonde... which means you could name her Dolly in tribute to the world's greatest blonde...

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

I want something that ends in an -ee sound. My list right now: Molly, Ellie, Ruby. Madeleine's suggestion: Fluffy or Gracie(after her stuffed swan). Vince's suggestion: "Uh, Lisa?"

Yes, more, please!

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

But she's sort of a redhead. She's dark blondish-reddish-brown.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Bonnie?

Rita?

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Bonnie's okay. I no like Rita. I thought Ruby was cute. You know, Ruby, red? Vince doesn't like it.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Vince Chao and his Lisa. Whatever Master V.

Lucy is good. My family has a redheaded dog named Lucy. We also have her son, T-Bird.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

I like Lucy too, but it's the name of my mother's now-deceased dog, and I think that may be weird.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Aw, I like Ruby. That's a great one. Yeah, Rita is a much better name for a cat.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Yeah, and sort of the name of Hardlucy, which I didn't even think about.

Ruby is really good!

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

My brother Grant actually named the dog Hardlucy, Lucy for short.

I like Ruby too! Now I just have to convince my famiry. I so excited!

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

I LOVE it that Mad wants to name her Fluffy. Kids are so funny.

Ok... redhead... Frannie? Molly is super cute - but everybody has a dog named Molly. Maggie? Too close to Maddie, I guess.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Oh, Frannie is good! Damn!

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Yeah, I thought of Maggie, but I think it's too close to Maddie, too.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Maybe Mike has suggestions. Right now I'm stuck on Frannie or Ruby.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

There's always Shelby.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

There's always Shelby.

Or what about Katie?

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Oops - didn't mean to post that twice.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Shelby! Awwwww. Because the real Shelby is blonde, or red, or brown, sometimes?

I don't like Katie.

How about Ally, after the most famous redhead of all? Heh.

Now I'm all confuse! You say too many good name!

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

See? I too good. Sometime, I forget how tarented.

I got an e-mail from Keli of Perpetual Blonde saying she was afraid of Melissa and wondering if I had noticed how crazy she sounded. I was like "You mean Meloonsa?" She is afraid for Erin.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Oh! AB! I've got it! Perfect Chao Dog Name!

"Betty." (to be pronouced Bayutee, of course) That way, when Hardlucy wins the Grammy, Master V can say "I'd like to thank my dawg, Bayutee. Oskalah Dahskalah."

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Oh my God. Keli posts all the time on Rob/Dana's forum, and Meloonsa does too. Except Meloonsa sounds like a freak.

Man, she's just crazy.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Oh my GOD! You are genius, Arrison!

That is way too funny.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Or we could just name the dog Oskalah Daskalah.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

You could, but it might be hard to go out in the yard and call her. You'd be laughing too hard.

Betty Dog Chao. I like it. God. Dog Chao!

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Oh, you know her middle name has to be "Dog", for just that reason.

I like it, too. I'll run it by Master V when he calls.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Hee... I am laughing.

Ok. I'm going to try to listen to my karaoke now.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Oskalah DOGskalah!

Betty Dogskalah Chao.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Dogskalah. Bwa HA!

Oh, it's cuuuuuuute. You know you'd end up calling her Bettydog, and how cute is THAT? Very.

Damn, I'm listening to all my competition now. Heheheheh. Who is this Fame person?! You HAVE to listen to "How do I live."

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Shiiiiiit, I'm listening to myself now. Shite. Man. I hate it!

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Ew, I don't know who that is. Did you listen to starlight's? Poor thing.

Is NewKat studios some of pamie's friends? It says it's in Burbank.

You still best!

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

I got 3 more hits from www.copkiller.org. Mayn, that's some scary shit.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Oh my God, did you listen to Wonderwall? It's hilarious.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

What's up with Ice-T loving you so much?

I'll listen. Is that Drew? I'll go look.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

I don't know, but I wish Ice-T would get off my ass. Go look at his scary-ass site.

No, Drew did the "coming to take me away, haha" song. It's someone I don't recognize, but it's effing funny.

Check out how nobody responded to Meloonsa's new journalling thread. I want to post that letter she sent to Jen as "What not to do."

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

No kidding. She's really lost it. I'm afraid to go look at copkiller. I mean, me and Ice-T used to be down, but when I started listening to Ice Cube, he got mad at me. Speaking of which, if you have not downloaded "You Can Do It" by Ice Cube, from Napstah, you need to do that immediately.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Oh, I already have. It's great. Ice-T is mad at you. Which, clearly, is why he had to make that scary site.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

I'm going to buy BettyDogskalah some prizes, and a leash and collar and stuff.

Be back latah, babies.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

You know... if you were feeling sorry for Eric at all over the pamie break-up scandal, prepare to abandon those feelings, because we may now have to reneg on our wristband plan because of him.

Months ago, his crazy friend Stacy said she would by two wristbands for him and Chis. Well, Eric didn't believe that she would do it, so he told Chris to buy them. Of course, they both bought them so now they supposedly have two to sell. Yesterday morning, I begged Eric to get Stacy to sell hers, because Chris has his IN HAND, and thus there is no doubt that they have them. I figured Stacy could sell hers easily, because she lives in Austin and knows about 2 million people who would want them.

Eric got all mad at me and said no, that it was all arranged and told Chris to sell his. So I tell you and you tell Meredith and we go through all of that and just now? Just now Eric sends this e-mail:

-----Original Message-----

From: Peterson, Eric [mailto:EPeterson@ts.ucla.edu]

Sent: Wednesday, March 07, 2001 11:30 AM

To: 'Christopher A. Huff'; 'Lowe, Allison'; 'pamie'

Cc: Peterson, Eric

Subject: RE: Nice trash, Trash.

okay, please don't be angry with me, but have you sold the wristbands? 'Cause Stacy just emailed me and let me know that she "thinks" she can sell hers by the end of the day. Perhaps you should hold on to yours.

Sorry this is so confusing. I have a feeling I am going to be standing outside of club deville, trying to get in.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

So now, AB, me and Chris look like jags because we may have to gank on this thing with Mere. Don't tell her yet - I have a sneaking suspicion that Eric will fuck it up again and everything will work out. But who knows. I should know by the end of today. I hate him. I wrote him back with this:

"E - when will you know from Stacy if she can sell hers/yours/whoevers? Because I told Meredith yesterday she could buy Chris's, and I need to tell her today, you know, that I was just lying."

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Argh! Nooooooo! Eric's in big trouble.

Why can't you just tell him no?

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

I'm working on it. HATE! This is SO typical Eric. I told Chris this is EXACTLY what would happen.

It pisses me off that Eric will come out with a wristband no matter what happens.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

No, you don't! It's all Eric's fault. Good response. Let me know what he says, and I won't say anything to Mere yet.

And check your e-mail.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

The MOC just sent me this:

"I've sent E a stern message to tell Stacy not to sell her wristbands.

The whole plan made no sense to begin with. This is the last time he gets involved in any planning."

Chris is falling out of love with Eric, yo. I never thought I'd see the day. MOC... gettin' all stern and shit.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Yay, MOC!

Jen won't post it. She's a non-trouble-starter. Damn.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

She DID post it! SHE DID! Uh oh, Meloonsa will go off her meds and freak.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Oh my God, she did! Now she's scared. She said, "Am I gonna get in trouble?" Hee.

Rock!

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Okay, I'm really leaving now. Unless something else happens.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Whoa! Who posted what? When? Where?

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Oh, don't leave me hangin'!

BTW, I'm chatting http://cgi1.usatoday.com/mchat/20010307002/tscript.htm

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Y'all. If you haven't read pamie's entry today - do so IMMEDIATELY.

God DAMN, it is SO fucking good. Now that's the pamie I've been missing. Even at my own expense, I LOVE it.

And then go ASAP to see what stee responded with in the forum. AB, it's the ultimate shout-out.

Mike, I just caught a little of the chat. I totally forgot it was today. I was at lunch when it started. I see you got a question from the Holy Land... interesting...

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Seriously, her entry kicked ass. It almost makes me want to enter so I can join in the smack-talking. But don't worry, the undefeated "My Sharona" rendition will sit this one out.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

I mean, that was some brilliant journal writing. Crazy brilliant. That thrown in sentence about Lillith? Can that shit be beaten? I think not.

You jags still have to vote for me. I'm sorry, but you do.

I like the little MATH/AB mention. And stee cracked me up in the forum.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

I'm definitely updating tonight, and after reading y'all's entries, my theme will be "Why I'm not entering the karaoke contest."

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

"In fact, Anna Beth once told me that she was trying to quit the MATH club, but Allison promised to buy her some strappy shoes and a plane ticket to SXSW"

Now wait a minute. Where's my bribe, yo?

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Uh, Mike... I've definitely bribed you for like, LIFE, young man.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Nobody's ever bribed for life, I don't think. At least not in Washington. We invented the art of bribe-taking in America, you know.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Hmm, you may be right. I'll work on it. You know I'm a little busy lately, though, so you might have to accept like, a sandwich, or something.

I wish you were coming to sxsw.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Stee hooknosing! I love it.

Total shoutout from pamie. Although I did have to e-mail her and tell her to link my ass.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

I wish I was too. It's just the worst possible time of year for it, being as Selection Sunday is, like, this Sunday.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Did y'all see PigFatt's new Fuzz title? Gross. Gag. GROSS!

Allison, I wish you could just delete all those padding bastards.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Yeah, I saw that she did. I was glad. You'll get crazy hits off it for weeks.

Yeah, yeah, M. I understand.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

She was all apologetic, saying she sucked for forgetting and she could never find my URL when she needed it and stuff. I was touched. Sweet pamie.

Again, I say of PigFatt: Gross!

Mad M. and I just got back from PetSmart. We got doggie stuff! Guess what my next entry's about? Heh.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Yeah, I was going to say something about getting her to link to me, and then I thought that updating sometime in the next year might be a good idea.

Tonight, tonight, tonight, as Phil Collins might sing.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

M, you know I check bermanation.com every day, and I cry when you haven't updated. I cry.

Have y'all seen that nibelung thing? It's where you can put all your journals you read in a ring-type deal and just go through them like that. It's cool, in a very geeky sort of way.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

I saw it, because I got a hit from there recently.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Al, check out how I totally have your back in DSAS. Because I roooooove you! And also, where are my strappy shoes, beeyatch?

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

It was probably me, Al. That's how I found out about it, too, though I have no idea who linked to me.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Y'all, only 20 minutes left and I win the camera auction! Woo! Keep yo' fingahs crossed.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

AB, we don't have the wristbands. I'm really, really sorry. Please tell Meredith that me and Chris are so embarrassed. Pamie is actually looking for wristbands now, through her Austin contacts, to see if she can find her any.

Stupid Eric. I hate his inconsiderate ass. The MOC is so mad.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Man! We should make Eric e-mail her. "Hi Meredith, you don't know me, but I'm the one who stole your wristbands. Because I'm Mean, Mean Eric."

I won auction! Digitar pictures coming soon!

Stupid Eric Peterson.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Hooray on the camera!

Boo on Eric. SuperJag.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

That's super nice of pamie to try and find her some. I have a feeling they're all gone, though. Mayn.

Oh well, if not, she can be general admission still, right?

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Yeah, of course.

Poor pamie, getting all worried about something she's not even involved in. She just feels bad for me and Chris by proxy.

And I feel really, really bad for Chris, because he got frustrated and mad about it at his best friend, who was not concerned at all about inconveniencing him or anyone else.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Did he really? Poor MOC. Eric is King of the Jags, and must be punished. He's not coming this weekend, is he? That might be weird, with Stee and all.

I don't want to cook tonight. Tell me not to cook tonight.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

No, he won't be there until Monday, I think.

When are you going down? I figure I'll probably be in around 8 Friday night.

No, girl. Didn't you hear? It's National Pizza Night.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Meredith told me to either leave early or late, to miss traffic and some construction in Austin or something. So I'll either leave early afternoon, like 2 or 3, or later, like 6 or 7. Probably earlier if I can get Joey to pick up Madeleine from school.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

I know it'll be National Pizza night here in Arlington.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

It is National Pizza Night, isn't it? Fabulous.

-- Anonymous, March 07, 2001

Excellent. I'll pick one up on my way home. Love to y'all. See you on the morrow. One more day (sort of) to sxsw! So excited.
