High School Kids Want to be Part of the Showgreenspun.com : LUSENET : Junkyard Wars : One Thread
In my school, especialy in my chemistry class, Junkyard wars is loved by all, and I know that there are many High School kids with great ideas who would want to be part of the show. My idea is to have different schools compete against each other. Maybe there could be three kids, one teacher, and then the specialist of whatever is being built. I know that I could easily find kids to form a team in my school. Anyway, I love the show and I hope it keeps on going! Good luck with it

Tyson, your ideas about JYW style competitions with high school kids are great! The Harebrained B.R.O.T.H.E.R.S. team is putting together a web site called Junkyard Science to promote ideas and opportunities like the ones you mention. Check for the site later this week and submit suggestions for challenges you'd like to do. More teachers, and a producer somewhere, are bound to tap into the popularity that has been generated. Keep in mind that the use of power tools will be minimal. That shouldn't hamper you -- high school kids are remarkably resourceful!
