Players getting mouthy in the Mag

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Steve Harper's at it this month slagging off the training facilities and saying that they may stop decent players coming here. He also apologises for his crap kicking. I wonder whether the club come down on players who openly criticise aspects of the club's administration...

Club administration might not be happy, but with Bobby also publicly criticizing the training facilities, it would be hypocritical of him to penalize the player. Especially when his words are statement of fact and not moaning for the sake of moaning.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear that Robson has even put him up to it!

There is no doubt that the training facilities are crap but with those apparently being sorted out in the summer, what's the point in saying this?

Because they have been going to sort it out "next Summer" for the last 6 years.

Softie.

So you are not confident that building will commence when the season ends?

Actually, Softie, Harps said that, too (ie that they've been hearing about Woolsington for ages). Incidentally, they used the Arsenal facilities for the Semi last year and they were apparently out of this world...treadmills in the pool etc.

Arsenal apparently have a heated training pitch as well.

Playing side almost sorted for them, World class training facilities, then the stadium. Mmmmmmm!!

I commented on another thread that Gary Speed was told the Woolsington facilities were "imminent" when he joined the Club three years ago, and bought his house in the vicinity to avoid too much of a commute. Surprise, surprise Gaz!
He won't make that basic mistake again!

De Builder, I am certain that if the fans register their concern about the lack of progress then we will be assured that "A working party is being set up to look into this and we would like to appoint a fan to this group." The elections will take a year to sort out but when the party meets they will announce that building will go ahead "Next Summer". Do you know that the kids who moved to the school they were originally going to add the youth academy to in the hope of getting great sports facilities have already bloody left?!? Still no work done - not even a playing field levelled or a set of goalposts erected. Utterly and inexcusably pathetic.
