New Strip

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Blatantly nicked from NUFC.com. If it is true I think it looks decent although I'd prefer to see the NTL logo in more appealing colours (They have alteredt the logo colour for Rangers and Celtic so why not us?)

We may be barking up the wrong tree, but a number of sources have forwarded us the following image, which it is claimed will be our home kit for next season:

After having looked at this image in hi-res, we are certain that the adidas and ntl logos have been grafted on to the photo. The whole strip has a vague look of an old Juventus jersey, which will probably be the nearest we get to a Zambrotta or Inzaghi.... Our spies also tell us that black socks will accompany the kit.

I've got used to the logo now. Is it smaller on that image than the current one?

Have to have a look at the photo when I get home as my work monitor is a 16-color piece of cr@p(to be kind). But from what I can of the fuzzy image, it looks quite promising! NTL logo excepted, though I'm getting used to it.

thats a highly manipulated image and should be treated with a pinch of scepticism

-- Anonymous, March 05, 2001

Isn't this the same as this season's but with the black/white reversed?

-- Anonymous, March 05, 2001

None of the players willing to be seen in it either ?

I guess Rik will soon fix that though

nufc.com have found that it is indeed a hoax. They found the original photo on Kitbag's site....Juve 99. Too bad. I like the collar.

-- Anonymous, March 05, 2001

i was gonna say - as someone who does photoshop retouching for a job - that's DEFINITELY been grafted on - i don't even need to look at the file - it's all out of proportion.

Shame though - nice kit...

;@))

We must be due a v-neck this time, unless they (shudder) go for a round collar again.

-- Anonymous, March 06, 2001

And a V-neck which doesn't make Nobby look like a prick when he's wearing his high necked vests-----bless him!

-- Anonymous, March 06, 2001

NUFC.com are displaying the following as another new strip possibility. This one seems to fit the rumours of the V neck and the thicker stripes!!!!!

Home kit? Looks more like away - or perhaps a halfway-house, only to be used on the bus. I'd prefer some more white on the sleeves.

-- Anonymous, March 12, 2001

Like the look of that last one. Doesn't matter if the players are sh1te, long as they wouldn't look out of place in Burton's winda. :-))

-- Anonymous, March 12, 2001

Ok Photoshop experts...doctored? Why does the top look very yellow/grayish? Or is it just a badly shot photo?

Not a bad design, I kind of like it. Still think that horrid ntl logo has to go. Or at least be changed to all white lettering. The purple and green really cheapens the whole shirt.

>>>The purple and green really cheapens the whole shirt. <<<

Aye - without NTL's millions in sponsorship, it would be a lot more expensive ;-)

i've had a look ciara and i have to say.......unconclusive!

nah, you can't zoom in close enough but the perspective looks right and it may well be THE kit....

-- Anonymous, March 13, 2001

i like it, very bold and a bit different. Avery much like that Juve kit they had when they had hit their peak. they then changed it for a really bad effort that made them look like jossy's giants

-- Anonymous, March 13, 2001

Wodger mean about Juve when they were at their peak. Still there, brother. Doing even better in Serie A than than the Mackems in the PL........

-- Anonymous, March 13, 2001

Looks pretty genuine to me and I must say, I LIKE IT.

The IC Newc site is saying the new strip will be launched today. It seems like it will be the one most recently posted on this thread as the IC lot say "three black strips on the front and the back and a smaller badge"

-- Anonymous, March 16, 2001

The pics on the orrifical site look well doctored! how small does Rob Lee's head look in comparison to his tree trunk legs?!?!?!

-- Anonymous, March 16, 2001

I can't even access the Official web site, any chance of posting them on here?

-- Anonymous, March 16, 2001

-- Anonymous, March 16, 2001

Actually Lee's upper body and head look smaller than the rest of him. Didn't think he was that much thinner than Given and Shearer.

-- Anonymous, March 16, 2001

Don't think much of the red cross design, is that the new away kit?

-- Anonymous, March 16, 2001

Gotta tell but the new' un is piggin awfull, looks like some dodgy second division outfit from scotland. What are they thinking?? If stock prices would rise in proportion to levels of humiliation Nufc would be worth bazillions. I am dreading to see what the new away strip is like, let me see, gold maybe? seems like the only colour left we have bastardized.

DeB what browser are you using?

-- Anonymous, March 16, 2001

IE5

Sorry Steph I can see it now. For some reason it wasn't showing up earlier.

I like the kit but I'd prefer to see the Goalkeeper wearing a traditional green shirt.

I think it looks excellent, particully looking forward to examining the biult in APV, when I get mine on May 1st.

-- Anonymous, March 16, 2001

.cock was down for a while - back in all it's gory now.

-- Anonymous, March 16, 2001

fecking disgrace.

-- Anonymous, March 17, 2001
