Flash for Leica CL

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

Can anyone recommend a basic, lightweight flash for a Leica CL? I usually shoot Fuji Neopan1600 in low light situations (late dusk, under streetlights, etc.).When pushing the film is not enough I'd like to have a flash for fill...

Thanks,

Christopher

No difference really between this and the prior thread on flash for Leica M. The SF20 from Leica does a good job, any other can be used as long as you have variable power settings.

Go to your local used photo store and pick up something inexpensive to experiment with. The Vivitar 2600 is cheap and has two automatic ranges. Poke around and try a few as everyone's preferences differ. I have and like the SF-20 but, if you are not planning on getting a M6TTL, I would get something less expensive.
