Ortho film in 120?greenspun.com : LUSENET : B&W Photo - Film & Processing : One Thread |
Are there any ortho-panchromatic films in 120 format out there?

Maco (Macophot) has ortho in 120. B&H has it, currently for $5 a roll."ASA 25"

By the way, you'll find it on B&H website under Film, Specialized Film (RH column, near the bottom).

Thanks! Who makes the Macophot films? I've heard that they just re- labels the films from another brand.

I don't know, but I don't think they are re-labels. They've got roll film IR, and this ortho. Nobody else I know of makes these.I think a web search on "Macophot" in google got me to their site.

I've just heard that the "normal" Maco films are made by Foma. Got no answer about the IR and Ortho films though.

A blue A/D conversion filter, like an 80C or 80A, used in conjunction with your favourite panchro film should give almost identical results to Ortho film.

Yes, but will not give you the superfine grain the ortho film has.

And, no panchro film will let you work with a safelight the way ortho can.I've always thought ortho might be the best way to start students on sheet film handling and processing for this reason.
