Why did i destory rather than gain?

Can somebody tell me why i gain only a little in a battle, but destory a lot.

Well, it is just the rules of the game.

If you seige a mage, and you are successful, that mage will lost 10% of his land. Of this 10%, a third will be taken by you, while the rest is destroyed.

However, should it be a regular and you are successful, that mage will lost 5% of his land. Of this 5%, a third will be yours.

Note: If the mage has fallen in ranking to the extent that he is very below you, you will only be able to destroy his land and receive any. This was done to prevent mages from milking their multiple accounts.

you will not be able to gain much land if you had only a small amount of army. If you want to gain at least 1/3 of the 10% land, you will need at least 20,000 troops that had survived the attacks

You only need 10,000 to survive.
