Very interesting--looks like there may finally be a worthy competitor for T-Max 100, with its great reciprocity characteristics. I wish it were available in sheet film, but I'll give the 120 roll film a try as soon as I can find some.

Are Fuji's advertising team on drugs?
I just clicked on the 'download high resolution image' link on Fuji's website, thinking that I'd get a nice sample picture taken with Neopan 100 Acros.
Ooooh no! You get a high resolution colour JPEG of the packaging!
Thanks for wasting my download time Fuji, I already knew what a roll of film looked like, and now I feel less inclined to try your product.

OK....I've shot a little Acros 100...these aren't the results of any hard-core testing, just from fishing around for working EI and development specs and some casual snapping.

Curve shape is "modern style," that is, about the same as TMX and Delta 100 in D-76. I didn't get into trying to modify it.

Using rotary agitation (Jobo) I got EI 50 in D-76H 1:1 and EI 64 in D-76H 1:3 for comparable CIs; for comparison, TMX and Delta 100 are both EI 100 for the same developer and about the same CI.

Of note is that Fuji indicates that Acros 100 has superb reciprocity characteristics.

The negs look very clean and smooth, and the 120 film has _very_ low base and fog density. Also, the 120 base is so limp it's like trying to load springy spaghetti on a reel.

I don't think Acros 100 is in any way a "TMX killer" or anything of that sort; otoh I think Fuji has finally produced a film that's equal to TMX and Delta 100 in all ways and perhaps superior in lack of reciprocity failure.

If Fuji makes this film available in 4x5 and especially Quickload packets, that could be really exciting. Otherwise I don't see any good reason to pursue it or avoid it. While it's very good, it's not better.

Thanks John. That description of the base thickness was the most valuable part of your post. TMX (and TMY) exhibit a major advantage for me; they have the thickest 120 base available, now that Agfapan 25 is history. You've eliminated the need for testing and saved me time!

I've loaded a lot of 120 onto reels over the years, but Acros gave me the biggest fight I've had in a long time.
