Just got this Manchester United look set to lock horns again in the summer, this time for the signature of Newcastle United midfielder Kieron Dyer.

The fact that the England ace underwent surgery to remove a cyst on his shin, and will need further surgery in a fortnight - thereby ruling him out for the rest of the season, doesn't seem to have put prospective buyers off.

Manchester United can offer straight cash, some £15m of it, while Leeds would offer Ian Harte, Michael Bridges plus £5m for the former Ipswich Town player's services.

If Newcastle were to sell, and there are no indications that they want to, an Old Trafford switch would seem to be the favourite as Newcastle have just signed Wayne Quinn, a left-back, and have Carl Cort, Alan Shearer and Shola Ameobi available for the 2001-02 campaign.

Then again, our impreccable Leeds source (the one who told us about the £18m Rio Ferdinand move a full 48 hours before anyone else knew and the Robbie Keane move) is adamant that Dyer will move to Elland Road - so we'll have to see.

I'm having trouble getting into the Orificial Shite as well this morning. I'm gettingpart of the opening screen, Alan, Aaron and the crest, but not the top and bottom section and then it just sits there doing nowt. I even tried just typing the URL with newindex.html at the end but even that didn't work.

I managed to access it right up until about midnight last night so it has been there, and they did run an apology for the cock up last week. Lets hope they have got it fixed for the webcast, I can't see R5L doing our game two weeks running.

Anyone know the URL for accessing Metro directly, and avoiding the club site?

Huh????? What does that have to do with whether or not we sell Dyer, A RIGHT SIDED MIDFIELDER?!

I can accept if he goes to Leeds for Bridges and Harte. MoanU can take a leap. Or give us Keane +25mil.

BTW, if anyone is still having problems with the official s*ite, the link to the webcast page is this: http://www.nufc.co.uk/audio.htm

That'll bypass all the main page stuff and frames.

Oh by the way, that posting was from Midas not the official site, silly me.
