Hi friends,

Well today i faced a real weird problem. Iv copied a dvd to my hardrive and when i try to to convert the vob file into mpeg 1 using flask, the audio is not there and is disabled. Now this only happens when i select the first one ( Vts_01_01) and as you know flask automatically detects the rest sequentially. However, if i select any of the others the audio is there, which i find quite strange. Iv managed to encode the rest of the movie apart from just this first Vts_01_01 file cuz of its audio not being there. I have now bought the dvd again and ripped it to my hardrive once again but yet still it shows the same result. But when actually play the dvd through realmajic everything is fine, i mean sounds there but when i try enccoding it flask says no audio stream found!! Is this some sort of new copyright protection or is there some files within the dvd that i have to play around with, like the Bup files? Please help iv tried everything.

try using another vob ripper

Aside from using another ripper (try Smart Ripper or DVD Decrypter) use DVDSqueezer or DVD2AVI to encode. Flexion.org has tips galore.

#1 what kind of rip are you trying to do?

VCD = you need to run a progam to multiplex it and paste back both the Video (*.mpv) & the audio (*.mpa) together. DVD2Mpeg sueezer is good http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/support/dvd2mpg-guide.html. This one I use with great success. "VCDs play just about on everything!!!" 330 lines of Rez.

SVCD = This one is a little tricky. You must run a DVD ripper. To get all the VOB (video object files) to run together. Smartripper is the best I have seen and I have 4 ripper types.

(This ripper will alow you to put 700mb of Mpeg2 on 1 disc. Be warned it will take 8 disc to make a 2hr movie and you can only use 16min to put on 1 disc of the movie)

Back to SVCD: You will need lots of time & a large HD with this one. If you don't have an 800mhz computer. After ripping the VOB you need to read it as an AVI file. Then Tmepnc it back together. 23hrs = 1 hr. 1 60min disc will take 1 full day. Not all DVD players can play SVCDs. But it is very close to a DVD 480-500 lines of Rez. http://www.dvdrip.ws/prod02-2.htm

DivX = This is the new guy. Mpeg-4 the site above also has a How to on this. I don't recommend this one. Because the only thing currently that can play it is a computer. You must have windows 98 or higher running media 7 with a Divx player & codecs. So I'm not going into details on this just read the link I Left above:)

Thanks guys for your help!. I assumed dvd2mpg squeezer would probably do the job for me and yes james you were right. However going for quality picture it has to be tmpeg or flask. Thanks guys once agiain!
