A Good Price on New Leica M6s in the US, I think...

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

I see photo.net has teamed up with a retailer called photo alley. A 15% rebate applies to all purchases before March 15th.

This means that you can get a new M6TTL for about US$1645 plus tax and an M6TTL .85 for about US$1700 plus tax as applicable.

I'm not in the US but this seems like a very good price for new M6 cameras in US$ terms.

and of course

I should have mentioned that shipping is free for orders over $100, i.e. shipping is free for M6s and taxes apply only to deliveries to NJ, CA and UT according to their shopping notes...

March 5th not March 15th!!

My type-that should be March 5th not the 15th.

And that should read "My typo" not "My type". Sigh...

They seem to make a big deal about extra warranty which probably means it is a gray market item not Leica USA; which already has a 3 year passport warranty. Gray market M6s in the high $1500 to low $1700 range is fairly typical. This is speculation on my part.
