is DV source video 'interlaced'

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I am just wondering if I should be checking the 'source video - interlaced' option within TMPGEnc when I am working with source video from a DV camera. Is this video considered interlaced? Up until now, capturing with an analog capture card I have been assigning the deinterlaced source video option. Should I change this or does it matter in the first place? Thanks

DV=Interlaced, anything with a horizontal resolution greater than about 300 lines is because you'd get shite fast motion otherwise.

Apart from DV being interlaced another important parameter to check is field order in TMPGEnc before encoding.
