It sure was! Where are you, Carrie? I'm here in downtown Portland, and our building was jumping like a rollercoaster!

I live in Kingston, WA......right across the water from Seattle. I haven't felt ANYTHING like this since california. We are due for a good one, tho---let's hope that was it! My sister-in-law called me from Portland, she told me you guys were shaking pretty good!

Nope, no damage.....but this house was SHAKING!!!!!! All kinds of creaks and groans!! Looks like Pioneer Square got allot of damage..... One thing that was interesting to watch was the Microsoft conference-- -all the techno-geeks diving under their chairs, bet that scared the crap outta Bill Gates!! Glad everyone is ok, tho.....wouldn't be good if people got hurt!

I guess you got our earthquakes and we got your rain. Fair exchange? I'm writing from Long Beach, California and it was announced yesterday that we've had more rain that Seattle this season.

I'll take the wet stuff any day of the week!!! No more freight trains running under my house, thank you!!!

Ken(Beetle) and Flatmo from "Art Attack" were on their way downtown Seattle picking up sheet brass..... haven't heard from them yet. Starting to get really worried....

We STILL have not heard from Ken and Duane. They were going to Bend to go skiing after they picked up the brass in downtown Seattle. I don't know if they even got there, it was in Old Town.

Still worried, a little more now, but I guess we would have heard by now if they were in trouble.

Oh sure...

Now all the things built have to work AND be earthquake proof!

Seesh!

Glad to hear that almost everyone is OK. June, have you found out anything about Duane and Ken?? Are they OK???? Let us know please.

I second that---let us know when they check in.....

They finally called, they are OK. They were driving and thought they had a flat tire on the trailer. They got into Old Town and thought all the rubble was from the Mardi Gras ruckus the night before, then they saw the windows broken out high up on the buildings and realized it was an earthquake. It was really slow driving but they made it to Bend for skiing. They are just fine, I'm sure the stories will be many. Good night to you all, thank you for your concern.

Musta been some Mardi Gras party ;)

Good to see that everyone's computer lines are still working.

What no suggestion of building earthquake-proof buildings? First to shake apart looses.

-- ChanzReed (uncleniblz@aol.com), March 02, 2001.

Hey....I'm OK! The earthquake was scary....alot like the ones we have here in Northern California. But the worst thing was the rotator cuff injury I got on the ski slope at Mt. Bachelor when a snowboarder ran me off the hill into a minefeild of moguls while I was at full speed. Let's just say, it wasn't pretty! Home safe now.....

"It shook hard. That's all I've got to say." Says Jessie. You're all nuts.
