There was a piece on R5 this morning about truency & an interview with a head of a Benwell school. He explained that it was difficult to get the hard core charver to attend school & suggested witholding the parents benefits when their children play truent (good idea). However, he did say that one of the schemes in his school is to reward good attendance with visits to Newcastle & near the end of the year even tickets for the match.

I say that's much better than Sunderland's give away attitude.

I think something similar was commented on hear a few weeks ago. But wasn't it a Toon supporting teacher having to reward kids with Mackem tickets? Blurrgh. Enough to mak e you sick.
