Not much happening today?

We just seem to be getting bogged down on trying to explain what's gone wrong at SJP, as if that had any significance in the greater scheme of things, so I thought a minor distraction might be worth a try.

I once had a friend who was a bit doo-lally. Said if the doctor wanted him to have a labotomy, he'd give him a piece of his mind.

Did you know that one method of performing lobotomies was by shoving an icepick through the tear ducts in your eyes and into your brain?

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me.... :-)

Ciara
Can't see that you'd be able to give much of a prognosis using that method. I mean, if you'd been on the hoy the night before, you could miss the tear duct completely and end up blinding the poor bugga.

On the bright side though, it could be only in one eye. :-)) Talking of which, I'd also give my right eye to have 20-20 vision.

LOL, PB!

Actually got that bit of info from a rather horrifying piece in a recent Washington Post about the doctor who invented lobotomies.

My missus couldn't understand why I didn't want to get circumsised, so I said, Its alright for you to say, but its no skin off your nose

Bliddy ell Ciara, I thought you were just going with the flow with that one. You mean that's really the way they did the first lobotomies ? Can't have been, surely. What's left of the mind boggles.

First started....naaaah. That's what the surgery evolved to! Doc figured out it was more direct than cutting a hole in the back or top of someone's head.

Any idea which procedure was used on President G.W.B., ciara?

Probably just let genetics take the strain with that one, clarky ;-)

IMO, it's all of the above, Softie and Clarky! :-)
