And here I thought I was going to find a website devoted to picking up black chicks...oh well, I'm saddled anyway.

I have a black friend who reluctantly talks to me a little bit about Nubians once in awhile. I've done very little reading on this topic, so I hope I'm not too far off when I say my friend apparently believes the first human, intelligent life on earth were black Africans with connections to Nubian extraterrestrials. Another part of this theory is that the home planet of these extraterrestrials is an asteroid not usually visible from earth, and that at some point in the future the earth will receive another visit from those on the asteroid.

Or so my friend's theory more or less goes. I listen to a lot of different people's opinions without believing them. I guess you could call the Nubian angle a sort of Art Bell, new-age belief held by a small number of blacks. My friend thought I would be offended by this theory because it holds that civilization was started by Africans. I told him I had seen a story on the cover of Time or Newsweek about ten years ago in which geneticists said their work has shown that all humans on earth today are decendents of a black woman who lived in Africa 200,000 years ago.

No flames, please. I'm passing this along because someone else brought up the topic.
