Anyone know what time of the day (GMT) the IC Newcastle site updates it's stories?

The Ronnie and the Journal always had a regular time.

I might be wrong DeB (not for the first time I hear you cry), but I think it is updated at various times during the day as new stories go out.

I checked it at 5.00pm one day last week and there was nothing of interest in there, but then when I looked again when I got home about 9.00pm, the 'top' story had changed.

Cheers ITK. Much as I thought then. I think I'd prefer to see it revert to a morning edition (aka Journal) and an afternoon edition (aka Ronnie) but I suppose they would say they are constantly updating the news, which is fair enough.

Change ppffuuhgt!

i keep clicking on stories to find out 'more' and it just refreshes the page!

Shearer Drools over Amoebi's potential. So much that he's forgotten to say anything else it seems.....;)

Ken - got a top little picture for you for the DT site. Will email it when i've downloaded it from me camera. [not THAT kind of picture before anyone starts....]

Ok, so I'm not the only one having problems with the NUFC news page. Haven't been able to get the full stories since Friday and have tried on 3 different computers using 3 different browsers. But have gotten the full stories when clicking on the links from the main page.

Have emailed the programmer over there, so lets see if they fix it.

This dysfunctional site has been running a poll on whether people feel the Toon players should have gone to La Manga. Before Saturday's game it was running strongly in favour of them going - around 65% in favour.

On Friday night I tried flipping in a few rogue votes against them going, but the refresh rate is so pathetic that I gave up after three.

I note tonight, after Saturday's ferrago than the vote is now heavily against them having gone - around 70% against.

As of last night those links still weren't working. What a piece of shite - and I can't even find an email link to tell these tossers that they've screwed up one of my daily must-see sites. Anyone know how to contact them? :@(

They've made a poor attempt at this transition. News comes in drips and drabs like any other footie site. The 'Newspaper edition' format had so much to offer in terms of content, format, timing and seriousness of the stories (most of the time).

The links have been working fine for me the last few days. Haven't tried yet today so may be speaking too soon. Or it's a Friday/weekend thing. I first noticed the problem last Friday....and didn't see it fixed until Monday. Hmmmmm, I know....let's fook up the site of a Friday then bugger off to the pub early. Give us something to do on the Monday! :-PPPPPPPPPPPPP

As for how to contact them..takes a bit of digging. I think I clicked onthe "About us" link or something like that. You eventually get to a list of names/emails of those responsible for the site.

I've found that if i go to the NUFC News page and bookmark it - when I re-access it the links to the individual stories don't work, eith in Netscape or Explorer.

However, if I access the stories from the general Football page, the links seem to work!!! Weird, but irritating.

That's basically the problem I'm having. Though I found I had to go all the way to the main page, then work back through the various links(avoiding the nice little Toon News graphic which leads to the problems). It seems like they've gone a little crazy with trying to automate things before working out the bugs.

Also found one reason it takes so dang long to download a page. Overuse of graphics! Even the story titles are graphics. Absolutely no need for that when they aren't using a specialized font.

I have no problems with the format of the site it's just the content. The reports seem to be more along the lines of the teamtalk site and the number of stories compared with the Ronnie and Journal is disappointing.

yep... it's now just another tittle-tattle site. The Journal/Ronnie felt much more like reading your local paper.

Saturday morning and my first look at icnewcastle. I was expecting it to be shite. but It's pretty good. If they can get the latest football stories on a bit quicker it would be excellent. They still have the Chronicle stories from yesterday afternoon on, then again so does my site.
