Battery Doors

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon FD : One Thread

My almost perfect T-70 decide to spit out its batteries. It appears the plastic tabs on the door broke, thus releasing the bottom plate from the door. Tape works for now.

Question: What other camera model doors could I use to replace the T-70's? That is, can I use one from a T-50 or T-60? How hard is it to replace?

Mike,

You can you a T50 door, but I believe the polarity markings on the door are reversed as compared to the T70. You will also have to snap off the small black posts sticking thru the metal plate so the battery terminals make contact. I did this repair before - it's very easy. Just remove the bottom plate & the door will come off.
