Information on the artist Fried Paj

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Art Deco Society of Washington : One Thread

I am seeking information on Fried Paj (sp?), an artist who created pastels for Paramount Studios in its heyday. I have two of his pastels bought approximately 25 years ago. They are of Paulette Goddard and Joan Fontaine and are quite beautiful. I have no idea of their value, insurance or otherwise. I would appreciate any help anyone can provide.

I have a rather large picture of a woman, rather a coquette,in what appears to be a street scene.I have no idea of it's value.I was told that the artist is oftentimes called paj fried.

I have 2 of his paintings that my grandmother inherited from her father and I'm interested in finding out what kind of value they might have also I would like to find out more about Fried's work so if anyone has any other information about him I would appreciate it.

I just bought two works, which I believe are by the same artist can anyone tell me if the the last letter in the last name of the signiture is like a long L compared to the rest of the letters... The paintings are copies and are both of a woman sitting with a parasol. Just trying to see if I could find out more about the artist of the work I have. Thanks

Whoever sent me the message questioning whether it was, in fact, an "L" on the end of Fried Paj(l)'s name -- it is, and there is a lot of information available -- under that name, of course. I can't believe I've been looking in the wrong place all this time! Good luck to you all -- let me know what you find out.
