Just watching Mike Superstar Neville interview Beardo on TTT. Marvellous. If only he was 20 years younger!

Mike Neville aahhh - he once finished the 6oclock local news early so commentated on the clock for 30 seconds. Why didn't he try national TV ?

Josh......he had the chance to go network when Nationwide was still on the air. He used to come down to stand in when people went on holiday, he used to particularly stand in for Frank Bough (on the screen, not on the whip!), but he always said that he prefered to be a big fish in a small pond (BBC Newcastle) that a little fish in a big pond (network) - I have to agree, BBC Newcastle's (and now TTT) gain was Networks loss.

Mike Neville should have a webcast of his show for us expats. We should all petition Tyne Tees by e-mail. I tried a while ago, but no success yet. At least we have a 5 minute on-demand Radio Newcastle news service since Christmas.
