New compiled list of teams.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Junkyard Wars : One Thread

I really have to wonder how many of the applicants have looked at this forum. I would think that this type of technology would appeal to the same types who like the show. It would be interesting to know just how many applications have been received. I should clean up the list a bit and put in proper URLs. Perhaps someone else will be keen enough to do it, and drop it on their web site!

Waddy and I wanted to return, but, not in positions of authority. We wanted to go get the parts, it was very frustrating waiting for parts to arrive. Having spent a couple of years in an auto recycling facility. The Three Rusty Juveniles have officially thrown their hat in the ring also, losing to luck and mother nature was a little tough to take.

Last season,I applied with a team and also for the "wreckspert" position as a human powered air cannon consultant, having built the cannon that won the NC human powered shootout the previous Oct. There was a shortage of human powered air cannon experts that year, so they picked me to be on the show. I would love to go and be on a team this season, and since Jay and I were pals from being on the show, we decided that our chances would be better if we put in two apps. The GATOR team is two friends of mine from this area. Both run machine and fabrication shops, as well as race and build things like monster trucks, stock cars, air boats ect. They are uncle and nephew. I have known them both from knowing their family since about 1965. Jay and I talked it over ahead of time, and with our prospective teammates, and there will be no hard feelings if one team gets picked over the other. Thank you for compiling the team list for the board posters. Waddy, AKA Capt.Mayo.
