Shola chooses England

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Shola is in the latest England U-21 squad.

"Wilkinson has included three new caps in the squad; Tottenham defender Alton Thelwell, Manchester United midfielder Mark Wilson and Newcastle striker Shola Ameobi.

Nigerian-born Ameobi has had a run in the Newcastle side since Alan Shearer was side-lined through injury."

Unless he decides not to accept the offer?

Surely the FA would have checked with him first? Perhaps not, as they were stupid enough to appoint Howard Wilkinson!

The Nigerians are still hoping that he won't actually play in the game, meaning that he would still be elligable

Also pleased to see Griff in the Under 21s, he's certainly going to play in the game on Tuesday night. It is on Sky Sports isn't it?

As far as I know U21 matches are not official matches so they doesnt count. So if he plays he could still choose Nigiria....

Hey Vatos, I heard that Newcastle are sending a scout to Ireland next week to watch an under 21 year old Danish lad. Any ideas?
