CRYSTAL PALACE are offering to give refunds to all of their fans who travelled to Barnsley on Tuesday night because the team's performance in a 1-0 defeat was so bad!

Now club chairman Simon Jordan has said that he was so "appalled" by his players' showing that he is willing to reimburse the estimated 500 fans who made the trip - even though it will cost him in the region of £10,000. Jordan told the Mirror: "I accept the fact that every game cannot be won but I will not accept performances such as that one.

"I have a responsibility to ensure our fans get respect, commitment and value for money. At Barnsley, they certainly did not. Fans are one of the most important parts of the club. I am neither setting a precedent nor being gimmicky. I was just appalled by our play and I don't believe our superb and valued fans should pay for what they saw."

How much are you owed then? Where are them ticket stubs I must be worth a few thousand at least!

How about a clause written into players contracts to say that they give 50% of their wages if they play badly to a fans fund.

Newcastle must have 20+ players on over £5000 per week, which means a weekly wage bill of over £1m. 50% of that to the fans who went to Charlton would ensure a huge following for the next away game

Yes Clarky - me too. AND the cost of the nice pully I spoilt by blubbering over it all the way home after the Wembley final. AND the cost of the recuperation in a local hostelry - ALL THESE THINGS SHOULD BE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT
