Gavilan

This geezer in the LondonMags list who told us that Goma had put in a transfer request long before it hit the papers says that Gavilan is on his way because YBR doesn't think he has developed the way he should have done. If this is true, then George Graham predicted it when Spurs trialled him before us and I don't know why we didn't see it. Incidentally Spurs trialled Cordone...

I went to see Gavilan in his first game at KP. It was cold and windy and the pitch was/is a rugby pitch. Gavilan looked 14 years old couldn't speak English and never got a kick. My first impression was £2mil+ for him, god I know nothing about potential greatness.

Furthermore, I thought Fumaca was man of the match that night.

Jamie McClen, superstar, miliion times better than Fumaca. Oh, how times stay the same...

Jamie McClen is pants. He plays really well for 10mins and then thinks he's George Best and gives the ball away for the other 80 or until subbed. Probably play like a superstar now, mind.

Diego Gavilan has International caps for a team ranked in the world top ten. So he can't be that bad.

@ training on Tuesday Gavilan was on working his own - obviously not fit.

In the games I've seen him (reserves mind you) he's looked worth the effort. Better by a bit than those aroung him (none of whom have shone either mind you). Give him time.

I've seen him play for his country in Hong Kong's Carlseberg Cup last month. He set-up the only goal for Paraguay and the most outstanding player in their team.

Not bad....
