greenspun.com : LUSENET : MATH : One Thread

I'm starting this early because SHELBY WON!

(she looked like trash, but I love her so much!)

Response to Thursday, February 21, 2001

Yeah, she did look a little trashy, and as much as I hate to say it, she was a little bitchy.

But that's pretty freakin' awesome that she won.

The E! guy asked if she missed the Nashville establishment, and she just goes. Nope!

Hopefully I should know today about sxsw.

Response to Thursday, February 21, 2001

Ditto, and ditto. I could forgive Shelby anything. Especially after she said, "I'd like to thank my manager, Bayut-ty."

A girl after my own heart, that's what she is. And Al, didn't she look different, again? I swear, she's better at it than Madonna.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Whoa. Why's it got those "response" things?

Meg still hasn't posted.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Oh, and Han, I've already cried twice this morning. One was something on the Today show, the other was your e-mail entry.

Emotion-inducing bitches, you and Katie Couric.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Except that Hannah has much better hair than Katie.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Oh, totally better hair than Katie. Although it is getting better lately.

My hair looks like ass, for the record. It's about 85 different lengths, and I think I may be sporting a mullet soon.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Mullets always make me laugh.

T - did Boo write back?

What drama will present itself today?

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

T, there's a Mardi Gras thread at 3WA. Thought you might like to go represent.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Ooh, I'm posting something right now.

Silly Mardi Gras hating jags.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

See, Teri, I'm so glad I know your family, and not all those bitter jags.

Mardi Gras is the best holiday EVER.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Hee! I wrote that and I hadn't even seen your post above.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

So the question is this: When Meg comes back in a few days, will she be:
a.) All whining about how people are out to get her or
b.) Talking about how crazy "work" has been lately.

Hannah, incredible entry.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Yay! I posted my Mardi Gras diatribe!

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Maybe I came to the party late, but have y'all seen starlight's new title?

And the pamie-stee plagerizing thing is hilarious.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Oh my god, the new title cracks my shit up. I hope that all the titles from now on have to do with padding and how is sucks.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Oh, T. Good answer.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

I mean, all the people who talked about hating Mardi Gras sould like they only went to the Quarter.

Uptown, Uptown, Uptown. If you've seen the Quarter once, you've seen all there is to see (except for the kick ass breakdancers who have been representing since 1982).

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

You did good, T. I wanna gooooooo! Wah!

Y'all think Meg will be back at all? I don't know--I would be crazy humiliated if I were her. She. Whatever.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Ooh, that's good. Pamie's finally being kind of mean about the padding. In a funny sort of way. I hope they're all about padding, too.

Pathetic Padder should be next.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

I'm in.

Yeah, Shelby looked awful, but DAYUM, I LOVE her. I mean, I might actually love her.

They clearly treated her like ass in Nashville, and now look at the child. I really didn't think she was bitchy, I just think she was high. And I also think she was like "Jags, I've been around FOREVER. Where have YOU been?"

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

She was bitchy in a good way, but still bitchy. I havent' seen the new title! What is it?

Y'all, Leigha and Rudergirl are like gone. Havent' seen them for days. I bet Flaya got fired too.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

H, Matt Lauer just now asked, "Was Jennifer out-Lopezed at the Grammys?"

Shelby was clearly high, or something, but damn. I don't even care. I thought it was funny when she was all, "Thirteen years and six albums to get here." Yeah, bitches. My daddy killed my mama and now I got me a Grammy.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Oh, I saw it. Haahahahahahah. Ha!

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

How odd. My last post didn't post.

Rudergirl wasn't fired, but she is banned from the internet (from what I gather):

I'm been okay, just stressing out under the pressures of being a manager. Ugh. I see rudergirl everyday at work, seeing as I'm her boss. She seems to be doing the same, although we really don't talk about anything except work anymore. I didn't know you guys share a grocery store... so you live on the Northwest side of town? I'm not sure if there will be squishy gatherings or not, the group seems to have seriously dwindled. I won't be attending, for personal reasons, but I'm sure they'd be happy to have you. Let me know if you ever feel like hanging out...

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Nice.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Oh, and Flaya popped her greasy little head in last night. She didn't say much, though.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Gaah! All out cookies were reset last night, and now 3WA and squishy won't show me what's new. Ugh.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

I hope y'all saw my Shelby homage last night on HYD. I'm about to do a new entry, so catch it while you can.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Oh, I saw it sister.

Still no word on sxsw, but I asked my boss this morning, and he was checking w/ the CEO's admin, so hopefully soon.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

I saw it, Al. What is her sister's name, again?

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Allison Moorer. She's pretty good.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Oh, she's so pretty, Al.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

The sister? Yeah, yeah. She is pretty. And she probably wouldn't go on TV looking like she just rolled up out of a formal NASCAR party, but she's no Shelby.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Have y'all seen the Survivor recap on MBTV? Would anyone notice if I plagerized this for my journal?

"Lamber then says that Colby can be talked into things easily and that "he's not real strong in his own opinion," and just then Alanis Morissette pops onto my television screen and wails, "Isn't it ironic?" and then disappears."

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

I was talking about the picture of Shelby on HYD, silly Arrison.

Mike, if you plagiarize, make sure you do it right. None of that Meg shit.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Hmph. Whoever wrote that clearly has access to the MATH boards and ganked my Alanis comment from yesterday... which you are welcome to steal, M.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

See, I'm being plagerized with the Alanis thing. It's MINE. All mine. Yo.

Hmm. I wonder how they're monitoring RG's internet use. By her postign at Squishy, or is she lurking?

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

I knew there was an Alanis reference here yesterday.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Oh, yeah. That picture is very good. She's so crazy, though. You're right - she does the look change better than Madonna. I don't know if she does it on purpose or not, but she looks different every time.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

They can probably monitor her access pretty easily, if they want to. I know a lot of companies do it, or threaten to.

T, I think you deserve a lot of the credit if the Atlanta squishites group goes under.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Woah. What?

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Allison, your girl Shelby is a big topic of conversation in our office, as we wonder how she could win for "Best New Artist" with her sixth album. One of our people used to spin her records when he was a DJ and they actually spun records, as opposed to the CDs or whatever they do now.

The general consensus also is that nobody would kick her out of bed. So to speak.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

"Kick her out of bed." Nice.

I've always wondered about that Best New Artist category. Should it really be, "Best New Artist who may not be new, but hey, they're signed to a major label now, so we can officially like them"?

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Or just call it "Breakthrough Artist". Doesn't another award show do that?

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

I'm not sure - I don't pay a whole lot of attention to the award shows.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

MTV.

Although Christina was new.

And here's what I hate. How, how HOW can Macy Gray win for a song taht's from the same album that she was nominated for LAST YEAR.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Oh, I am dying for an update or some response from Meg.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

She'll be back, but I'm sure she'll wait for things (especially the plagerism thread) to die down. I don't think she'll be able to stay away for long, because she'll miss the attention. But this will be a big hole to dig herself out of.

Nice grammar. I suck.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

It's snowing outside, if anyone cares. D.C. is at a standstill.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

I bet it's beautiful.

Mike, did I tell you that we're heading up to NoVa for Easter?

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

It snowed here this morning. It sucks.

The forum is slow. Hmm. I wish RG would've gotten fired. And I love how no one's mentioned it.

Maybe I'll write a dear so and so to the fuzz.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

I just had to reboot my computer like, five times. Hate.

Mayn, for the second day in a row, I'm in the worst mood ever. I hope it's hormones, because I would hate to think I am just naturally this grouchy.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Sometimes my iBook spazzes adn I'll have to reboot it like 5 times in a day. If I didn't love it so much I'd hate it.

Hmmm. Cricket wrote a letter to RG. Wouldn't it be nice to quote it and have Ratsy reply? Hmm.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

T - that rocks! You'll be, like, six seconds from where I live. And it will probably have stopped snowing by then.

When is Easter this year, anyway?

Actually, it is beautiful. I just wish this had happened on some other day, since driving home will be a pain and I have to make it in time for Survivor.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Easter is about 45 days from now.

Ooh - I didn't notice that the Deathiffer hadn't been posting.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Al, do you know how much mbtv pays per recap?

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Cool! We should do lunch.

I don't even want to know where Jessifer is, but I'm sure it won't be long before she tells us. I'm going to start calling her Calamity Jane. Or maybe Typhoid Mary.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Joh, do you want to go work for them?

Oh - does the Silent P know the backstory of the plagairism thread?

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Allison, I think I'm going to post something in the plagerism thread about pimping my new site -- hateyourfather.com -- and my first entry on heading home to Alabama for the holidays. Would you object?

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Mike, that would be hysterical.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

T - no, I was just wondering.

I just ate waaaay too many reese's pieces. Ugh.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Y'all know what's wrong with Reese's Pieces?

Nothing.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Oh, barf.

What I wouldnt' give for Meg to update. Sigh. I'll be patient.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Oh, y'all. I can't stop being mean about the plagiarism. It too much fun! An Bei nevah stop!

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Oh, I'm impatient with you. Which reminds me of Meg's laast entry when she talked about what she wanted to plant in "her" garden - inpatients [sic].

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

I just added to the plaigarism thread...

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

T, calling Meg out!

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Well, I was a little more subtle than that, I hope.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

And she didn't take the bait.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

What would she possible say? She's just hoping it goes away.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

But she won't post at all and I want her too. Mike she loooooooves you, you know. You could make it happen. Mike! Mike!

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Jags?

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Once upon a time, maybe. But she doesn't love me now -- remember the whole "things have been strained between us" thing from awhile back? I don't think that would work.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Al?

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

John boy?

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

AB just floats in and out of here.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Okay, forgive me, but how fucked up is it that pamie and stee spent Valentine's Day night together?

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Bermanation.com is officially UP.

Yay!

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

It is! It is! An Bei kick ass!

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

i can't get over how different shelby lynne looked last night as compared to taht pic

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

yay Mike! But no images are there.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Critic.

Y'all know why there's no flashy index page? Because I'm unorganized and can't find the photo I want to scan in. It's the cutest thing ever -- me getting ready to shovel snow when I was, like, eight. I know I have it somewhere. But where?

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

No, but there's liek a box with an x, like there's supossed to be a graphic there, but it's not there

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

An Bei working on it, Hannah!

You hord holses!

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Okay, try again. Bermanation all pretty now.

Also, I know Berman's password. Heh.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

I still can't see the graphics. Also, will "Hot Off The Press" be where you link to your columns?

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

What is Eric's last name?

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

T - I replied in the Mardi Gras thread.

Where'd Al go?

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Pam's Eric? Peterson.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Nah -- it'll be for my most recent couple of entries (like Anna Beth has on her side navigation). I'm really trying to keep my work and journalling life as seperate as possible.

I mean, it would take someone about four seconds to figure out where I worked, but I want to make them take those four seconds. Both Allison and Hannah figured it out before I ever said anything, but I'm hoping the fuzz freaks are less bright.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Ugh. Meg STILL hasn't updated.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

I know. It makes me clazy.

Nor has she posted anywhere.

T- why did you want to know E's last name?

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Someone named Eric Miller reads my site regularly.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

How did you get a name? Does he come from ericmiller.com or something?

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

emiller.org. I pulled the whoie from sitemeter and they gave me his first and last name, address - all the information. Turns out, he's in Wisconsin. But it's a familiar name.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

A guy went to Klein named Eric Miller. That's probably why. I doubt it's the same dude, tho.

Evelyone so quiet! No like.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Had to go move my car. Y'all? There's a 120-car pileup on I-95 South. Good thing that's not how I get home.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Oh my god - 120 cars? Was anyone badly hurt?

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Oh, mayn. I'm reading about it at washingtonpost.com. I think that C's dad takes that route - he works in Maryland. He drives a tensy car, too - one of those BMW convertible things.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Three people seriously hurt. No fatalities, at least not that I know of.

It was on CNN and everything.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Jesus. My computer has been ASSING all day.

Mike, you MUST be SO careful tonight.

I just updated.

What else did I miss?

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

I cannot spell today. I don't know why I'm so deficient.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

**Prayers** for Mike and the Hawaiian Orchid.

Seriously, though, be careful.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

It's all good. I'm going to hang around and hit the gym after work, so the traffic should be gone by the time I leave.

Must be home by eight for Survivor.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

God Allison, you're so fucking BRILLIANT.

" "Whatever, you little punk ass bitch. I'm Elton John, and I just made a lot of money. Cheers.""

And the Dre thing?

The thing about 'breathe." I don't get this: I can feel you breathe. Washing over me. What? How does your 'breathe' wash over anything?

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Oh my god, when Cynthia leaves, I may actually have to work. I don't want to work. Work means responsibility.

I was a little livid earlier. Matt, who is our own little Napoleon, told Craig, who hired Cynthia, that he would let her have Cynthia on one condition: that he promise not to take me, too.

What a fucking jag!

One, I mean, for christ's sake, what a terrible thing to say. And, two, what an impotent freak. Every day, he goes off on one diatibe after another. He'll wreak havoc on one guy, and he'll seek revenge on another. That's what he says he'll do, at least. As if. He has money that he inherited from his father, and he was a state rep for one session. That's it. He has about as much influence as I do. Hell, I probably have more as I am an attractive blonde and he looks like Ralph S. Mouse.

But now he wants to fuck with my career prospects? I don't fucking think so.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

And I still can't spell.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

God DAMN I hate that song. It made me hate Faith Hill, who I actually used to like very much back in the day (last year) when she was a country singer and not a supermodel.

Dolly SO did not want to give her that award.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

It's all right, T. I can't spell, either. I just had to go correct a bunch of stuff in my entry.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Can he actually do that, T, or is he just blowing smoke?

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Oh, Allison, that is the best entry ever.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

He's full of shit. Apparently, Craig didn't react when Matt said that, and I don't know what that means. Cynthia said that she doesn't think that it would make a difference, and really, if anything, is is sort of an endorsement of my talent. Because I do have talent, and I do enjoy working, so long as I feel that I'm being utilized. And really, I don't utilize my own potential most of the time, lately, at least.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

T, you totally just need to ignore that idiot. He can't create your career path for you! Jag! Next time he says something like that, remind him that you're not his property and that he doesn't pay you enough to make bold statements about your future. I hate it when I hear stuff like that. Like "I'll let you go, Cynthia, IF you don't take Teri." She should have said: "You'll LET me GO? I just QUIT, dumbass."

Y'all, I can just never leave shit alone. I had to go add another paragraph. Out of control editrix.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

I think she said something to that effect.

What's good is that C works with Mike Bowers, and Matt would grovel and scrape to be Bowers' houseboy if the opportunity arose. If worse came to worse (and this would definitely be a last resort), I would ask Bowers to write a scathing letter telling Matt to lay the fuck off.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

You know, I have nothing resembling hatred in my heart towards Lorelei_Lee, but nobody can kill a thread like she can.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Oh my god, you are so right. I never even thought about it like that.

It's been more than 24 hours with nary a peep from Meg.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

I think the furr has been divided and conquered, with little to no help from MATH. They are nowhere, today. What were y'all talking about this morning about pamie bashing the padders? With the new title, you mean? HiLARIOUS.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

That was the greatest thing ever.

I'm out in a few minutes, but this has been about the best day ever. I love it that bermanation.com is online. An Bei numbah one FTPer.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Al, you genius.

But I have one more thing for you to do: You spelled Shelby, Shebly, in one line.

I so sorry! I bearer of misspelling news!

And y'all. L_L can totally kill a thread. But she's sending me cool lip stuff, so I can't complain.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

Thanks, AB. I'll fix it.

And, I know y'all are sick to death of it but, go read Shelby's interview with Joan Osborne and tell me - you just TRY to tell me - we're not going to be best friends one day. http://www.heroinemagazine.com/

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

As extra incentive - she even mentions Betty.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

G'night. I updated.

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2001

She is so totally your best friend.

I love the last line: "There you go."
