Is the eruption of a volcano likely to reveal an igneous intrusion??

yes, it is very likely to reveal an igneous intrusion. When the rocks cool below the surface of the earth it can forms intrusive igneous rocks. This is where the rocks don't reach the surface of the earth, but rather cool below the surface....this cooling is slow and large crystals are formed in the rocks. to find an example of this look in chapter three, specifically on page 61. peace
