On CM00-01 when I try to restore one of my saved games i get an error: v3.84 setup...cpp721 - any thoughts/links? just that it's my first championship winning side.

I've had that message, can't remember why. I think it was something to do with trying to play the game off another computer on my home nework, but the disk being in the wrong machine.
