tactical warfare

Imagine, if you will, for a second, that you are Bobby. Not our Bobby, but Bobby Robson. How would you play the rest of the season? Me, l would literally say Flup it and reinvent Football tactics - we have the points just about and effectively this season is an over one. I would go for a 2 - 1 - 4 - 1 - 2 formation with the emphasis on solid no holds barred attack. I would ask the centre backs to hang back wider than normal, Acuna to defend the centre and literally ask Solano and Quinn to hug the touchlines. I would play speed and lee in between them, place dyer just in front and play Shearer and Cort/Ameobi in front. Quinn and Solano have a brief to hit the penalty spot whenever they get the ball Shearer always moves to this area. Lee Speed Dyer and Ameobi create a circle of menace around shearer. the players have 3 codes of certainty 1 - always go forward as fast as you can 2 - hunt in packs, never let the opposition settle on the ball 3 - shoot on site

i say blitz the opposition and NEVER say die.

Dear Anne

After watching Newcastle for many sesons now, I have come to the following conclusions.

1 . they are not very good

2 Don't like chopping and changing tactics,

Don't like to play 3 at the back, don't have any decent wing backs, like to play two up front and recently like the idea of one man playing a front two.

Kevin Keegan almost got it right with his diamond midfield and I would go a similar way by playing three accross the middle. That gives you an extra man to play in front. As for the three midfielders, I would use the South Americans, Solano , Acuna and Bassedas. Defencively I would do my utmost to try to persuade Goma to stay, using him with Hughes, Caldwell as the sefensive subb. You're gonna get nowt for Marcelino wether he plays or not, so I would leave him in the reserves. Griffin and Quinn would be my full backs. Dyer would of course be the man in the hole with Shearer and Ameobi ahead of him. I would put Barton, Speed and Lee on the bench and also rotate the two keepers. So hpw about this for an idea

Apart possibly from in Italia 90 and the German team, has anyone ever won anything playing 3-5-2? 4-4-2 all the way my son.

"literally hug the touchlines" or "literally ask" , literally matters
